I teach piano, solfeggio, music theory and composition in River Forest and Oak Park as well as remote on Zoom. My teaching philosophy is unique as I believe in holistic musical approach. Positive and rewarding learning experiences is awakening students’ curiosity about ALL sounds, imagination, sensory awareness, and deep listening. I have 30+ years of teaching experience. Expert lessons are 1-1 starting from an early age to diplomas to postgraduate level. Lessons are inviting for amateur musicians, adults, seniors and students with disabilities. I am award winning, internationally recognized pianist and composer, proud mother and grandmother.
Natasha Bogojevic is award winning and internationally acclaimed composer and pianist. She is regarded as the creator of highly original, passionate, and imaginative pieces. Her music is not possible to categorize; while deeply rooted in classical tradition she is constantly searching for different inspiration to create new, engaging, and inventive scores. She has been praised for her unusual yet traditionally scored chamber ensembles, multimedia synthesis of music and visual arts, symphony orchestra, chamber ensembles, and many diverse scores for theatre and film. Interestingly she appeared as an actress and composer in recent film “Gray In White And Black” which is available on Amazon Prime Video.
Native of former Yugoslavia, she studied composition with. professor Hofman at the University of Arts in Belgrade. She also studied piano, chamber music, electronic music (at the Radio Belgrade Electronic Studio and C.A.V.M. in Orléans, France), and film music (with Ennio Simeon, Italy). She worked as assistant professor of composition and orchestration at the Belgrade University of Arts but during the civil war and break up of former Yugoslavia she immigrated to the United States. Since 2003 she has been on the faculty of De Paul University in Chicago.
Bogojevic is the recipient of numerous commissions, honors and awards: the National Public Radio Award (Belgrade), The UNESCO's IRC Prize in Paris, Joseph Jefferson Award in Chicago. She was the winner of the Festival Expresiones Contemporaneas (Mexico City, 2020) while received “Honorable Mention” at the prestigious USA MACRO Competition. Her recent work was the “Finalist” at the NYC Contemporary Music Symposium (Columbia University, 2021).
Her music was presented at the major European festivals of new music such as UNESCO IRC (France), Gaudeamus, STIFT (Netherlands); International New Music Festivals (Slovakia), Concerts for Peace (Japan); Music Forum (Ukraine); Arrai Music Festival (Canada) and many more. She an active participant of New Music Chicago scene as well as contributor to the US festivals and contemporary composition conferences.
Her biography appeared in several books including “History of Serbian Music and European Musical Heritage”, “Serbian Music: Yugoslav Contexts” by Melita Milin and Jim Samson, “Parallel Histories” by Dr. Ivana Medic, (Institute of Musicology of the Serbian Academy of Science and Arts), “The World of Woman in Classical Music” by Dr. Anne K.
